The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center is manned by 9 full time and 2 part-time employees.  These employees are well trained individuals who service the citizens of Pitt County by dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

Pitt County is approximately 656 square miles; The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Communication’s Center is responsible for dispatching to Sworn Sheriff’s Office Deputies as well as 6 of 8 municipalities, towns and townships within Pitt County. 

 Dispatch Services Provided for:

  • Winterville

  • Simpson

  • Bethel

  • Grifton

  • Fountain

  • Grimesland

Telecommunicator Duties 

  • Answer Emergency and Non-Emergency calls for service.

  • Work with 9-1-1 for correct law enforcement service routing

  • Provide Criminal and Driver’s Record Checks for local law enforcement

  • Dispatch after hours service calls for Pitt County Dept. of Social Services

  • Dispatch after hours calls for the Pitt County Animal Control and Animal Shelter personnel

  • Provide citizens with information and contact numbers for criminal and non-criminal matters

  • Provide information to the public on Criminal and Civil Paper Service

  • Maintain 24 hour a day, 7 days a week up dated filing on Domestic Violence Orders, No Contact Orders, and Wanted Persons and provide Law Enforcement with information on outstanding warrants and pending charges on suspected criminals upon request.
