Domestic Violence Prevention

MISSION STATEMENT

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office views domestic violence as a crime which requires direct law enforcement intervention and a coordinated community response.  A deputy sheriff who responds to a domestic violence incident will conduct a through investigation, as well as, attempt to reduce the possibility of violence and threats towards the victim and other involved individuals.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office also seeks to represent victims and enforce our community’s intolerance for violent behavior both inside and outside the home.  A clear and consistent response to domestic violence conveys the message that Domestic Violence is unaccepted.  We strive to assist victims and their families by providing them with information, resources and connecting them with services to better aid them through their personal crisis.
